Study visa to Ukraine D13. Student visa.

For students from visa countries, as well as countries with which Ukraine has signed agreements on visa-free stays up to 90 days (for tourist, private, and business trips), it is necessary to obtain a long-term (“study,” type D13) visa to Ukraine. This visa allows staying in the country for more than 90 days and obtaining a temporary residence permit for the duration of the study.

What documents are required to be submitted to the Consulate of Ukraine to obtain a visa based on studying in Ukraine?

Documents for D13 visa:

1) Passport, which must meet the following requirements:

– be valid for at least three months after the declared date of departure from the territory of Ukraine;

– contain at least two blank pages;

– not be valid for more than 10 years;

2) Completed and signed visa application form.

3) Color photograph sized 35*45 mm.

4) Documents confirming the availability of sufficient financial support for the planned period of stay and for returning to the country of origin or the ability to obtain sufficient financial support legally on the territory of Ukraine.

5) Valid medical insurance policy with coverage of expenses of not less than 30,000 euros or equivalent in another currency.

6) Document confirming payment of the consular fee.

7) Document confirming the purpose of the foreigner’s planned stay in Ukraine. In this case, the required document is an Invitation for Study (Internship) issued by a higher educational institution and registered with the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

All documents regarding the foreigner’s previous education must be officially certified before obtaining the Invitation for Study. They should be legalized (Ministry of Education + Ministry of Foreign Affairs + Embassy of Ukraine in your country) or certified with an “Apostille” stamp and then legalized at the Embassy of Ukraine. These documents must be officially recognized in Ukraine for the Ukrainian university to be able to issue a diploma upon completion of the studies.

Citizens of countries with which Ukraine has signed agreements on visa-free regime, such as Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, do not need to obtain a visa to Ukraine. However, they must provide the original or a copy of the “Invitation for Study” when crossing the Ukrainian border as proof of the purpose of their visit to Ukraine.
